Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I have read your description and understand your concern.
Ideally, it would be recommended to go for abortion during first trimester of pregnancy within 12 weeks, as it could be done relatively safely under medical supervision by means of using abortion pills.
Since you have already crossed that period, it is advisable not to try abortion by using pills as it would land you in complications associated with incomplete abortion.
In second trimester, abortion during 17 weeks is considered a 'late term abortion'. The only way in which it can be done is by surgical means. Depending on the growth of the fetus, it can be done by means of hysterotomy (opening and evacuating from the uterus) or by dilatation and evacuation of cervix via vaginal route.
Kindly consult Gynaecologist in this regard for evaluation and management.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
